Travel

Travelling by car:
See our map and directions. We have ample car parking space.

Travelling by train:
Nearest train station is Salisbury. Trains are hourly from/to London Waterloo on South West Trains (journey time 90 minutes). Trains to/from Bath on Wessex Trains (journey time 60 minutes). For train timetables see www.thetrainline.com.

Travelling by coach :
The coach station is in Salisbury centre. Coaches from London Victoria take over 2 hours. For coach timetable see www.national-express-coach.co.uk .

Public transport:
Wilts & Dorset Bus company operate a bus service in the area around Salisbury and out to Stonehenge. See www.wdbus.co.uk. But Witherington is not served by public transport.

Taxis:
Taxis are readily available in Salisbury and there is a taxi rank at the train station. The fare from Salisbury to Witherington is approx £12. A local taxi service covers Witherington and Downton but is not always available at short notice and needs to be booked in advance.

Car Hire:
You can hire a car in Salisbury from any of six nationally recognised Car Hire firms with depots in the city. We can give you details of them if required. Note that none of the depots operate on Saturday afternoon or on Sunday.

Arrival and Departure:
Guests can arrive here from 4.30pm onwards, and before 9.00pm please. It is a help to us if you can let us know approximately what time you expect to be here. Arrival earlier than 4.30pm is possible if arranged with us in advance.

You of course have access to the house and to your room during the whole period of your stay. Departure on your final day is by 10.30am please.
 

Our Booking Terms:
We ask for a deposit, please, of one third at the time of booking: this would be refunded if you cancelled outside 21 days ahead of your visit. Within 7 days of your visit we reserve the right to charge you in full for your booking.
